Drop whatever you're doing and read Gary Sullivan's recent posts on Joe Brainard's comics: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8. In addition to his poetry and collages, Brainard drew many comics, collaborating with Frank O'Hara, Ron Padgett, Robert Creeley, Kenward Elmslie, etc. More than his other work, these comics were an essential part of New York School poetics.

I'd never seen these before coming across them here. I'm now sufficiently convinced that Brainard's collected comics will take its rightful place along side all those other guys' collected poems as soon as someone publishes it.
