Dick Termes
Dick Termes has been a friend of my family for many years, and I grew up in love with his spherical paintings.
Termes is, to my knowledge, the world's only practitioner of "six-point perspective," a concept that he explains here. Unfortunately, a video really can't capture what's cool about his spheres. After you watch a piece turn for a few seconds, the sphere appears to turn concave and you're able to see the landscape from the inside. It's sort of like one of those Magic Eye thingies except, you know, that it works.

OK, those Magic Eye things worked, dude. I actually can remember pretty vividly the first time I made one work for me. It was a 3D sunken pirate ship, with various sharks and fish swimming around it. I spent literally hours finding more and more 3D details that kept popping out at me. I'm not even kidding; it was one of the most purely fun experiences of my life. Right up there with the purchase of my first Hypercolor sweatshirt!
